This summer will be a great one for movies. I have been disappointed the last few months. There have been a some good movies out, but they've been few and far between. Lord of the Rings is finished, it's between movies for some of the big franchises, and I haven't seen any really big ideas being discussed or put forward for movies. But this summer and fall does offer some great-looking treatments of literary and comic works, and some remakes that look interesting. Here are a few that I am looking forward to.
War of the Worlds: June 29th
Batman Begins: June 15th
Fantastic Four: July 8th
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: April 29th
Kingdom of Heaven: May 6th
Madagascar: May 27th
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: May 19th

Just looking at some of these posters has me drooling in anticipation. If even one or two of these is really good, I'll be happy for a year.
Me too. Star Wars and Batman Begins are the ones I have the most hopes for. I think Batman Begins will be great. They have an excellent cast and the trailers look great. But Star Wars? Who knows. It looks good, but then the last two did two. And they had good parts, but were disappointing overall (to me at least).
